The Challenge: This video was part of a campaign highlighting Peninsula College’s new academic programs. Among the questions we had to address were: How do we promote our five new academic programs? How do we maintain a branded look between the videos, while keeping them individual? How do we make the videos accessible and understandable with and without audio?
The Project: I selected the clips, designed the template, wrote the copy, and edited the videos. (Video footage was captured by another videographer.) Since many people view websites on mobile devices with the sound muted, the video features no spoken words and instead makes use of text to highlight the features of the program.
The Outcome: This video, and the other four in the series, were featured on the campaign microsite, on the main college website, and shared on social media. Each video followed a similar template, and the colors were adjusted to match the program’s corresponding Area of Study. These videos provided us with a template that could be used for future program videos.
