The Challenge
To support the relaunch of the Shepherd Shield app, we needed to communicate its value to new users. We decided to develop a video that could be shared online, used in digital advertising, and displayed at events promoting the app. The video needed to appeal to both new users who were unfamiliar with the app, as well as existing users who may not used it since its initial release.
The Project
I created a promotional video to showcase the redesigned Shepherd Shield app in a highly visual way. The video used close-up screenshots with short descriptions of the new features to highlight the updated interface and improved usability, as well as showcase the graphics.
Emphasis was placed on the visual improvements of the redesign: interactive maps, clear alerts, detailed safety information, the “Packs” and “Rally Point” features, and the ability to easily share information with friends and family during a critical incident.
Once completed, the video was shared on social media, embedded on the redesigned website, and used during promotional, in-person events.
The Outcome
The promotional video reinforced Shepherd Shield’s mission. The close-ups showcased the app’s new look and feel. By highlighting the app’s updated design and new features, audiences had a better understanding of the app’s purpose and capabilities. It encouraged existing users to revisit the app and explore the new features.
